Summary
This article provides information on what the SDR Summary reports are, how to access them, who signs the reports, and how to upload them into DXP Ngā Kete.
What are the SDR Summary reports?
Summary reports are generated after an SDR submission. When you use the validation program to validate your data, a Summary report is generated.
The four Summary reports are:
1. SDR Broad Summary report
2. SDR Summary Report Detail
3. Course Completion Summary Report
4. Qualification Completion Summary Report
For more detailed information on Summary reports, see the DXP Ngā Kete user guides (Data Submissions > Single Data Return).
How are the Summary reports accessed?
You access the SDR Summary reports from DXP Ngā Kete after submitting your SDR.
For instructions on how to view the reports, see the DXP Ngā Kete user guides (Data Submissions > Single Data Return).
What if my report says 'Rejected?
The report will show a 'Rejected' status if the SDR files are successfully uploaded but there are data errors. You will need to fix the errors and then re-upload the SDR files.
For more information, see:
- the DXP Ngā Kete user guides (Data Submissions > Single Data Return)
- the 'Data Specifications for the SDR' (docx) in Single Data Return (SDR) | TEC website

Who signs the Summary report declarations?
Summary report declarations need to be signed:
- for the April and August SDRs, by the Chief Executive or Vice Chancellor.
- for the December SDR, by the Chief Executive or (where the organisation has one) the Chair of the Council or Board.
The person signing the report is declaring that the data your organisation has submitted is true and correct.
What needs to be signed?
You need to download and review all four reports; however, only three reports need to be signed - Broad Summary, Course Completion, and Qualification Completion.
How do I submit the Summary reports?
For instructions on how to upload the reports, see the DXP Ngā Kete user guides (Data Submissions > Single Data Return).
All pages of the Summary reports need to be uploaded to DXP Ngā Kete. Please ensure they have been signed and dated before uploading.
TEC's Customer Contact Team will review your Summary reports and advise if any information is missing.
