Summary

This article provides information on what EFTS Forecasts are, and which funds they are required for as part of an SDR submission.

It also advises when to edit Forecast values before you upload your signed SDR Summary Reports.

What are EFTS Forecasts?

EFTS Forecasts estimate how many EFTS will be delivered by a tertiary education organisation (TEO). The Forecasts are automatically generated from the information uploaded in your SDR files.

Forecasts are produced by course classification and funding category, for the current year and 4 out-years.

You can edit the values in your EFTS Forecast if applicable (see section below).

Your organisation's Forecast information shows in the 'SDR Summary Report Detail'.

Which funds are EFTS Forecasts required for?

EFTS Forecasts are required for Level 3 and above qualifications that eligible for TEC funding with the following source of funding (SoF) codes:

01 - Delivery at NZQCF levels 7 (degree) and above (DQ7+)

11 - Off Job Training Delivery at NZQCF levels 1 to 7 (non-degree)

29 - Māori Pasifika Trades Training (MPTT) Level 3 and 4

37 - Non-degree Delivery at Levels 3-7 on the NZQCF (DQ3-7)

EFTS Forecasts are not required for other funds. However, if you deliver any of the above funds then EFTS Forecasts will also be automatically generated for other funds you deliver.

When should we edit EFTS Forecasts?

If your organisation expects its EFTS delivery will be higher than what is forecast, you will need to edit the Forecast values to reflect the estimated EFTS delivery. You need to do this before you upload your SDR Summary reports.

You can also decrease the figures if you expect to deliver less than what is forecast.

For detailed instructions on how to edit the values, refer to the DXP Ngā Kete user guides (Data Submissions > Single Data Return-SDR).
