This article provides information about how schools apply for Gateway funding for the first time. 

Please note we have a limited amount of funding to allocate, and therefore will consider an application from a new school only if sufficient funding is available.
 

How does a school apply for Gateway funding for the first time?

If your school wishes to apply for Gateway funding for the first time:

Due date:

Apply before 31 August for funding for the following calendar year. 

  • We assess applications in September. 
  • As we have a limited amount of funding to allocate, we will consider an application from a new school only if sufficient funding is available.

To apply:

1. Complete the Gateway Additional Funding application form, available in the 'Accessing new or additional Gateway funding' section of Gateway - Funding and payments | TEC website. 

2. Email the completed form to customerservice@tec.govt.nz using the subject line '[School name] - Gateway [Year]: New school application'. 

We will assess your application and advise you of the outcome.
